A Study of Indoor Propagation Analysis Using the FDTD Method

(in English) The authors use the FDTD method (Finite Difference Time Domain method) and ray tracing method, which are electromagnetic analysis methods, because of the propagation characteristics in large-scale indoors. Radio wave propagation indoors consists of reflection, diffraction and transmission. The above method reproduces the phenomenon on a computer using the electrical characteristics of the object. However, it is difficult to non-destructively measure the electrical constants of existing building objects. Therefore, we report the results of estimating the propagation loss by the FDTD method using typical electric constants for buildings made of reinforced concrete and comparing them with actual measurement values.
