A study of high frequency characteristic measurement of transmission line on printed circuit board

(in English) With the start of 5G, a next-generation communication method
that includes the millimeter-wave frequency band,
and the increasing operation frequency of electronic devices
and the circuits,
the need for measurement of the millimeter-wave frequency band
is increasing.
In this report, we measured the propagation characteristics of the microstrip line and the coplanar line using SOLT calibration and TRL calibration in the frequency band of 20 MHz---50 GHz including the millimeter waves.
In order to show the validity of the measurement results, we compared them with the calculation results by the SDA method.
From the measurement results of the microstrip line, the measured results using the SOLT method were able to measure up to 50 GHz.
But, we could not measure over 20 GHz due to accuracy of circuits in the results using TLR calibration.
And also, we could not measure the characteristic of the coplanar line using the SOLT calibration.
