| (in English) | Wearing the mask is encouraged by WHO, because there are no effective medical methods to COVID-19. Wear of the mask is forced in many countries at present. Putting a mask affects breathing in a case of the exercise and mask interferes with sound utterance, and the feature of the utterance changes. However, as far as virus infection expansion continues, compulsion of the surgical mask wear may be continuing for several years. In this report, we measured influence of the mask to pronunciation of Japanese vowels using the distribution of the first and the second formant frequency of Japanese 5 vowels. Experimental results of the change in pronunciation by the presence of the mask are shown by 8 male Japanese speakers. And the difference of the kinds of the mask is tested by single examinee. | |
