PCID Detection Probability Using NR Synchronization Signals for 3GPP TDL Channel Models

(in English) This paper presents physical-layer cell identity (PCID) detection probability using synchronization signals in the 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) tapped delay line (TDL) channel models for 5G New Radio (NR) initial access. Computer simulation results validate the primary synchronization signal (PSS) detection probability and the PCID detection probability based on the cumulative distribution of the instantaneous received power of the PSS for the respective TDL channel models. We also show that the high PCID detection probability of approximately 90 % is achieved at the average received SNR of 0 dB by using the NR synchronization signals in the 3GPP TDL channel models.
