Proposal of optical CDMA scheme multiplexing several shortened modified prime sequence codes

(in English) In this paper, we propose a new synchronous optical code-division multiple access (CDMA) scheme using shortened generalized modified prime sequence codes (Shortened GMPSCs) as spreading codes. In the proposed scheme, the shortened GMPSCs composed of different extension fields are multiplexed and transmitted simultaneously. Comparing with the conventional synchronous optical CDMA scheme, which uses only a single shortened GMPSC as a spreading code, the proposed scheme can increase a number of users without degrading error rate characteristics. This paper investigates the proposed scheme and evaluates its performance using computer simulation.
