Recently, the installation of smart grids has been actively promoted from the viewpoint of stabilizing power supply and highly efficient usage of green energy, whereby fuel cells play an important role in the power processing. The authors have proposed a current-fed boost converter as a high-frequency link DC-DC converter (DC-X) that is applied to the front stage of a grid-connected inverter in a fuel cell interface. Since the proposed dc-dc converter is based on the principle of quasi-resonance for soft switching but non-load resonant manner, the derivation of the output voltage conversion ratio by AC analysis taking only the fundamental component into consideration causes a large error between the theoretical and computer-aided calculation values, needless to say the measured results. In order to obtain more precise analysis of the proposed converter, a time-domain analysis is newly employed for analyzing the high-order harmonics in the stepwise voltage of the quasi-resonant high frequency inverter. The effectiveness of the analytical method is verified by comparing with the simulation results, after which the measured results obtained from a $rm{1,MHz}$-$rm{55,W}$ prototype with GaN-HEMT are demonstrated for consolidating the analytical approach. |
