Evaluation of Radiation Detection by Consumer CMOS sensor Masaru Shibata, Takayoshi Kohmura, Shinichi Kimura (TUS) SANE2020-49 |

With the advancement of human science and technology, astronomy developed rapidly, and various X-ray astronomical satellites have been launched. Conventional X-ray astronomy satellites are equipped with CCD sensors for space use, but it is considered necessary to adopt other sensors from the viewpoints of development cost and power consumption. In this research, we will develop an X-ray astronomy satellite with low cost and low power consumption by using a consumer CMOS sensor equipped with SOIPIX using SOI (Silicon On Insulator) technology that can be fully depleted. Accordingly, the radiation detection evaluation of INTPIX8, which is the CMOS image sensor used in this study, will be performed to evaluate its performance. |
