Rendering method to reproduce the quality of projected object in projected AR

(in English) In this paper, we propose a rendering method that improves the texture of an object in a projected image for high-precision visual reproduction of the object surface. By introducing it into an adaptive projection type AR system based on the XYZ color space, it is possible to suppress the "light emission feeling" in which the projected object appears to shine in real time. Specifically, after calculating the projection color, the obtained image data of the projected texture and the sharpening processing filter are convoluted to emphasize the outline of the part that is blurred by the smoothing processing. In addition, an algorithm for extracting the light emitting region was applied to the region where a large light emitting feeling exists, and the texture was improved by local sharpening by the sorting process. From two evaluation experiments, the effectiveness and necessity of the proposed method were confirmed.
