Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Since aerial ultrasonic sensors are required to be small, it is difficult to generate powerful sound waves. In this study, we aim to develop a sound source that emits powerful sound waves in one direction while being small in size. We have shown that by grooving a part of a uniform rod, the vibrating surface can be made to vibrate in the same direction with a large amplitude and without any nodes of vibration, which enables us to obtain sound waves with high sound pressure in the far frontal direction despite the small size. In this report, the emission characteristics of the sound wave are examined. As a result, an unprecedentedly high sound pressure was obtained in the vertical direction of the vibration plane with unidirectional characteristics.
