This paper discusses the way to the security analysis of physical-ciphered communication systems that actively utilize optical noise for their cryptographic purpose. An approach to the security analysis is divided into two parts: a physics-oriented part and a logic-oriented part. We report some basic principles appeared in the physics-oriented part, and try to understand the physical limitations to be imposed on eavesdroppers based on the fact that the quantum states of laser light are essentially non-orthogonal. |
