IEEE 802.15.4-based OFDM transmission scheme toward adaptive IoT wireless communication systems

(in English) Nowadays, wireless communication systems that adopt FSK transmission scheme, which is standardized in IEEE 802.15.4, are widely spreading. For the merits of less digital signal processing, FSK-based systems can achieve low-power and reliable communications over several hundred meters and are adopted as communication for smart meters. However, communication systems for smart meters are being expected to accommodate various applications. Hence, a higher transmission rate or a wider transmission range are required. In this report, the possibility of the adaptive IoT wireless communication systems with IEEE 802.15.4/4g/4x-standardized OFDM transmission scheme is discussed from the fundamental evaluation results of the OFDM transmission scheme. Moreover, this report proposes a novel channel estimation method toward mobile communications. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated by computer simulations.
