FDTD analysis of leaky waves from circuit-shaped waveguides for snowmelting using microwave

(in English) A circuit-shape waveguide is proposed to evenly melt snow in an area by microwave heating and to reduce the installation cost of the snow melting system. The leakage radio wave from the waveguide is analyzed using the FDTD method. The radiation pattern for a pair of straight sections of the proposed waveguide was similar to that of two waveguides laid out in parallel each with the feeding point on the same edge. The presence of the curved part affected the directivity of the straight sections. The circuit-shape waveguides with and without the termination plate were compared, and the waveguide without the termination plate was found to have more suitable radiation directivity performance.
