Millimeter-Wave Cluster Channel Model for Intra-Vehicle Access Links

(in English) In this paper, the millimeter-wave cluster channel model in a passenger vehicle is presented. In recent years, millimeter-wave wireless communication technology has attracted a great deal of attention. In this research, we focused on multi-gigabit wireless transmission in passenger vehicles using millimeter waves. In some literature, propagation measurement campaigns in passenger vehicles were conducted, and channel models were also developed by extracting the multi-path component (MPC) parameters from the measurement data. However, because the MPC extraction was performed only in delay time domain, it is not sufficiently considered in the angular characteristics in cluster channel model. In this study, we conducted the millimeter-wave double-directional channel sounding in a passenger vehicle and developed a cluster channel model considering both the delay time and the angular domain properties. Specifically, we performed clustering on the MPCs extracted by the high-resolution propagation path parameter estimation algorithm to identify the scattering processes. The intra-cluster characteristics of the identified clusters were obtained.
