[Encouragement Talk] A Study on D-Plane Architecture and Configuration method of a Data Network Slice Constituting an E2E slice

(in English) In recent years, in order to support various network services assumed in the 5G era, network slice is being studied that enables to quickly construct a logical network according to network requirements on a common physical resource. There are several domains between the endpoints of communication, such as user equipment and application servers. The components of the domains include Radio Access Network(RAN), 5G Core(5GC), and the transport network of the Mobile Backhaul between the RAN and the 5GC or Data Network (DN) between the 5GC and the application servers. A DN slice has not been discussed in standards developing organizations. Therefore, in this paper, we study the network requirements and architecture of the D-Plane, which performs packet forwarding processing, in order to realize the DN slice. We also report the results of a study of a method for mapping transfer resources between slices and DNs, as well as the results of actual verification.
