[Invited Lecture] Evaluation of propagation characteristics of millimeter wave band along the railway.

(in English) Relatively low-speed communications such as voice communication and data communication of a few Mbps have been used for railway communications between ground and vehicles on railways. However, in order to use new services, it is required to increase the data rate of railway communication. Therefore, assuming the application of millimeter-wave to the communication system utilizing the straightness of millimeter-wave, we evaluate the propagation characteristics of millimeterwave propagation in a curved section of a railroad track by using the ray-tracing method. In addition, we show the results of a running test using the 28GHz 5G system and the results of a radio wave measurement test using the sXGP system in the station, and briefly discuss the possibility of applying both systems to railroads.
