Improvement of Transfer Efficiency on MIMO WiCoPT System

(in English) This paper proposes a short-range MIMO WiCoPT system in which information transmission and wireless power transfer are performed at the same antenna and frequency. The previous works by the authors have shown that the WiCoPT system based on a 4x4 MIMO system with 2x2 planar array antennas has a problem of different antenna element spacing which realizes the maximum transmission capacity and power transfer efficiency. This work investigates the above reason and proposes an antenna configuration which maximizes both the transmission capacity and the power transfer efficiency simultaneously. The paper proposes the improvement of the wireless power transfer by changing the input impedance of each antenna element. Simulation results indicate that the wireless power transfer efficiency depends on the input impedance and the maximum wireless power transfer efficiency is achieved with an input impedance of 60ohm. On the other hand, the transmission capacity does not depend on the input impedance. These results indicate that the transmission capacity and the wireless power transfer efficiency can be achieved using a 2x2 planar array antenna with the same antenna element spacing.
