Improvement of Controllability of a Nonlinear MEMS Resonator Type Reservoir based on Mutual Information Criteria

(in English) In this work, we propose a parameter tuning method based on mutual information criteria for MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) Resonator-type Reservoir Computing. It is required for MEMS reservoirs to tune the balance of linear and nonlinear characteristics and to control their nonlinear behaviors depending on an external input, such as chaos and hysteresis. In our study, we focus on pre-training for machine learning called IP (Intrinsic Plasticity) learning, and apply it to controlling stochastic behaviors of MEMS reservoirs. First, we demonstrate simulation results on chaos suppression. Next, we show that our approach can improve prediction accuracy as compared to the conventional one.
