Construction of discrimination support system using GAN for non-destructive testing images by scanning elastic wave source technique

(in English) We proposed Scanning Airborne Ultrasound Source Technique (SAUA). SAUS is a detecting method of thinning defects generated in thin metal plate using guided waves. The guide wave is diffracted and reflected at the defect position. Therefore the defect position can be identified visually from the guided wave propagation image (Wavefield data) obtained by the proposed method. On the other hand, it is necessary to perform various image processing in order to accurately identify and grasp the area and shape about defects. One of the effective method of image processing is the use of Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN). GAN is one of the image generation methods using machine learning, and by learning features from image data prepared in advance, it is possible to generate and convert image data according to the learned features.
In this study, we are building a system of visually support defect discrimination by extracted defect shape.
At this time, Defect shape is extracted from the wavefield data obtained by the proposed method SAUS by pix2pix that is one of the image generation algorithms using GAN.
In this report, we are trying to generate a simple image that identifies the defect area using GAN for the wavefield data obtained by numerical simulation.
