[Invited Talk] Toward a Unification of Various Speech Processing Tasks Based on End-to-End Neural networks

(in English) This presentation will introduce the recent progress of speech processing technologies based on end-to-end neural networks. End-to-End neural networks have been actively studied in various speech processing tasks, including speech recognition, speech synthesis, speech translation, and speech enhancement. This presentation first introduces such activities and trends and focuses on a potential unified scheme of such tasks based on sequence-to-sequence neural networks. This unified scheme provides various benefits, including software design for dealing with various speech processing tasks with unified interfaces and the acceleration of technical interactions across the task. We also introduce our open-source speech processing toolkit called ESPnet (https://github.com/espnet/espnet), which fully utilizes the benefits of the unified scheme.
