A Research Related to the Fricative Sound Determination in Digital Pattern Playback

(in English) Pattern Playback (PP) is a device which converts spectrograms into speech by amplitude modulation, and Digital Pattern Playback(DPP) is a implementation of this technology. By utilizing DPP, it becomes possible to restore speech from spectrograms which have no remaining voice, such as those found in phonetics textbooks in their early days. In this paper, we present a method for discriminating fricative sounds in broadband spectrograms to improve the accuracy of DPP.
