| (in English) | In this paper, we propose an extended data hiding method for palette-based images, which improves the marked image quality.Before the data hiding process, the index colors are typically reordered in order to minimize the differences among neighboring colors.First, the previous method reorders the index colors using the nearest neighbor method.Therefore, as the number of the index colors, which have not been reordered, decreases, the differences among the remaining index colors increases.In contrast, the proposed method first calculates correlation coefficients among index color for each two of RGB color components.A single or multiple sets, which consist of the index colors, are formed based on the coefficients, and the origin is derived for each set.Then, the index colors in each set are numbered in ascending order of distance from the origin, and all the sets are finally combined.Consequently, the marked image quality of our method is higher than that of the previous method.Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of image quality evaluation using PSNR and SSIM. | |
