Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A typical Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) employs the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with the velocity of 40 to 100 km/h and the altitude of 150 to 1000 meters. Therefore, Doppler shift occurs in the carrier frequency of the transmitted and received signals between the UAV and the terrestrial terminal. By observing multiple Doppler shift values from different UAVs or at different times, it is possible to detect the position of a user by using the positional information of UAVs. We have been conducted performance evaluations of positioning accuracy in 2D for user position detection method using a single UAV or multiple UAVs by changing the initial position and the height of the UAVs under various flight models such as circular flight model and figure-8 flight model.
In this study, performance evaluations of the positioning accuracy for 3D position detection method are conducted by computer simulations based on the least-square method in three UAVs model with circularly orbiting flight in order to compare with the performance of conventional 2D position detection method. The simulation results confirmed that the positioning accuracy of the 3D position detection method is worse than that of the 2D method, and the positioning accuracy of the former method depends on the detection features of the altitude direction. Further, the positioning accuracy of the 3D position detection method can be improved by changing the initial location of the three UAVs in circular flight model.
