An optical simulation using the finite differential time domain (FDTD) method was performed to improve the detection efficiency and the light absorption efficiency of the superconducting nanostrip single photon detector (SSPD). The optimum structure of SSPD in a simple Au cavity structure is designed to improve the light absorption efficiency. For the superconducting thin film, we used NbN which has been commonly used, and MoN which has the 100% internal quantum efficiency. The light absorption efficiency of 97.5% was obtained for MoN-SSPD with a cavity structure on the sapphire substrate. |
