We have proposed a continuous measurement method for Rayleigh backscattered light in the time domain at any point on the optical fiber and conducted experimental confirmation. Still, the measured phase contains the frequency noise component of the laser. Therefore, it wasn't easy to measure with sufficient quality. This paper reports the measurement results by improving the digital signal processing for the phase measurement of backscattered light and removing the above noise component. Furthermore, we mention the experimental results of applying this measurement method to Brillouin scattered light. |
