Recently, object collision prevention systems have been developed in order to improve the safety of automotive driving. As a sensor used for object detection, millimeter-wave radar has attracted a lot of attention because of its ability to observe long distances even in bad weather. In previous studies, we performed 3D imaging using automotive SAR with an uniform linear array of one transmitter and four receivers. However, there are some problems such as poor angular resolution, then it is necessary to increase the number of antenna elements to realize highly resolution imaging. In this paper, Automotive millimeter-wave simulation using WaveFarer, an electromagnetic field simulator, with 1 transmitter and 16 receivers unequally spaced linear arrays is performed and the 3D imaging results are compared before and after applying the Khatri-Rao (KR) product expansion array processing. |
