Design and evaluation of surface mount type stacked patch antenna with hollow structure in 60 GHz band

(in English) A feasibility of surface mount type stacked patch antenna in millimeter wave band is studied and the antennas without restriction of substrate layer structure and material constant are designed and measured. In 0th sample, conductive feed by solder mounting is applied. In 20% relative bandwidth 57 - 70 GHz, The -8 dB return loss and 5 - 7 dBi gain is estimated. Feasibility of IEEE 802.11ay application is confirmed. In 1st sample, capacitive feed by resin mounting is adopted and dual polarization is realized. The -10 dB return loss in 14% relative bandwidth 57 - 66 GHz, radiation patterns with small deviation and 7 dBi gain between each four channels are simulated. The 6-element array is fabricated and 5 dBi gain with by single element and 10 dBi gain by array are measured. Feasibility of IEEE 802.11ad application is confirmed.
