Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) is an artificial intelligence algorithm in which a generative network, which produces fake data close to the real data, and a discriminative network, which distinguishes between real data and fake data, compete with each other. Since research has been conducted to embed neural networks in hardware, we investigated how to run this GAN on embedded systems with reconfigurable architecture. We constructed a bitwise neural network on FPGA, in which a part of the computation is replaced by efficient bitwise operations based on the information output from a normal neural network to speed up the process, and we verified the computation time and learning efficiency. |
