(in English) In this experiment, PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) that has no polarization-maintaining (PM) property, binary copolymer (poly[methyl methacrylate/ benzyl methacrylate (BzMA) = 82:18 (w/w)]) that can cancel only orientational birefringence and ternary copolymer (poly[methyl methacrylate/ 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate (3FMA)/ benzyl methacrylate = 52:42:6 (w/w/w)]) that can cancel orientational and elastic birefringence are used as the core of POF, and PM property of the POFs are investigated while exciting mode is changed. As a result, it is confirmed that POF with ternary core has PM property even if there is stress on fiber, and the composition in the core is uneven.
