[Poster Presentation] Attacks on Search Ring-LWE Problem by Trace Map on Finite Field

(in English) The Ring-Learning with Error (Ring-LWE) has attracted a great deal of attention because it is quantum-resistant and can be used to construct homomorphic cryptosystems. Chen et al. proposed a search attack that reduces the search area by converting the Ring-LWE problem into a problem on a small finite field. On the other hand, Chen and Okumura et al. proposed improved attack methods using Frobenius map and Trace map when the relative degree of modulus primes in underlying number fields is even. However, there is no known attack method for the case of odd relative degree.
In this study, we extend the scope of the attack to arbitrary relative degree using Trace map, and also propose a search attack with appropriate samples in the case of composite numbers. Experiments were conducted on special algebraic number field vulnerable to these attacks, and the usefulness of our attacks was confirmed.
