Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The adiabatic quantum-flux-parametron (AQFP) circuit is a superconducting logic circuit with extremely low power consumption. Many AQFP large-scale circuits have been designed and demonstrated so far. However, there is a problem that operation of AQFP become unstable in long-distance signal transmission during high-speed operation, which severely limits the wiring length and increases the circuit area and latency. To solve this problem, we conducted simulations using a transmission line model. We confirmed that the cause of the unstable operation is the multiple reflection of signal current between the gates. We showed that we can get correct operation inserting normal conductive resistance Rpar between input port of wire and ground. We evaluated the margin of JJ and energy consumption of the citcuit with Rpar and the optimal value of Rpar was determined. We also fabricated the circuit with Rpar inserted and measured the BER to demonstrate the operation and evaluate the effectiveness.
