Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In Hokkaido, there was a case of Intravenous fluid to administer for trauma patients at outdoor emergency sites. Though infusion solution was prewarmed to prevent hypothermia, we experienced that the infusion solution freezes in the infusion circuit in a low temperature environment. Low temperature infusion solution may promote hypothermia, we examined measure to prevent the temperature of infusion solution decreased.
First, we focused on the temperature characteristics of the infusion solution bag and examined the effect of maintaining the temperature of that on preventing the temperature of infusion solution at the end of infusion circuit decreased. Temperature of infusion solution bag was maintained way to cover it with a commercially available heat insulation bag or way to heat that about 50 ℃. The temperature of that bag was maintained properly, but the temperature of the infusion solution at the end of the circuit decreased. It was thought that the heat loss in the infusion circuit was large. Next, we tried to keep the infusion solution in infusion circuit warm using two types of heat insulating materials. As a result, the temperature of the infusion solution decreasing could be suppressed.
In order to prevent the temperature of the infusion solution decreased, it was considered necessary to take measures for the infusion solution circuit.
