Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have been studying the ultrasonic vibration assisted manufacturing technology using longitudinal-torsional vibration and the vibration source used for this technology. In the ultrasonic welding process, which is one of the ultrasonic vibrations assisted manufacturing technology, we propose the use of a plane vibration locus consisting of longitudinal-torsional vibrations. We have proposed a horn that can be used as a vibration source to generate plane vibration locus, in which the amplitude amplification factor of longitudinal and torsional vibrations can be individually designed. Specifically, a hollow part is proposed for the step horn. In this paper, the vibration modes of a step horn with a hollow part are investigated by FEM to study the step horn with a hollow part whose amplitude expansion ratio can be individually designed. Then, the vibration characteristics of a longitudinal-torsional vibration source using a step horn with a hollow part were measured. The amplitude expansion ratios of the step horn with a hollow part were clarified.
