Flat vibration of vibrating tools for ultrasonic bonding and other purposes is important for industrial applications but requires a lot of know-how due to the wave nature phenomena. Topology optimization is a structural optimization technique that achieves the desired objective by controlling the design region's material distribution, including voids. In this study, we propose several objective functions and constraints to obtain uniform vibration on the output surface of a large ultrasonic tool and then perform topology optimization to discuss the optimal shape and vibration distribution obtained. |
