(in English) This paper outlines my IEICE Fellow Special Lecture entitled human anatomical structure analysis by medical image processing and its application to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures assistance. The lecture will start from the origin of the research area human anatomical structure analysis by medical image processing and its application to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures assistance. Expansion of this research area also will be demonstrated in this talk. Future direction will be discussed based on 30 years history.
