Evaluation of ECG Waveform by Individual Differences Based on Electric Field Analysis

(in English) In ECG measurement using wearable devices, a reduction of the number of electrodes is desirable for portability and patient comfort. However, with a small number of electrodes, the amount of information becomes limited, and the influence of individual differences in physique and electrode misalignment due to movement on the diagnosis becomes significant. Therefore, it is essential to consider the electrode position to improve the accuracy of detecting abnormal waveforms in the ECG measurement with wearable devices. In this study, the numerical human body model is used to represent simple individual differences in physique. The scalar-potential finite-difference method is used to reproduce the cardiac potential on a computer. Furthermore, by applying the dynamic time warping method to the ECG waveform, we evaluated the variation of cardiac potential by individual differences in physique. The computer simulation shows that the ECG waveform by individual differences in physique becomes significant around V2 and V3. The tendency of the simulation results was confirmed by comparing the references values using ECG of healthy subjects.
