Non-contact Heart Rate Measurement Using Millimeter-wave Array Radar and Principal Component Analysis of Phase Sequence

(in English) In this study, we develop a novel method for the noncontact measurement of human heartbeat using ultra-wideband millimeter-wave array radar. The developed method first estimates the approximate location of a target person using radar imaging. Next, the phase time series of the radar signals corresponding to the estimated location erea are filtered considering the frequency characteristics of the target physiological signal and combined using principal component analysis. Finally, the topology method is applied to the combined phase time series to estimate the heart rate. The accuracy of the proposed method is quantitatively evaluated by comparing it with the data from an electrocardiograph. Through our experiments involving participants, we demonstrated that the proposed method improved the accuracy in estimating the heart interbeat interval by 34$%$ compared to the original topology method.
