A Study Focusing on Conversational Tasks for Interactive Mental Health Support Using Chatbot

(in English) With the growing public concern about mental health, there are high expectations for the realization of a simple and sustainable self-care system that can be recognized as a ``counselor''. In this study, we examine whether it is useful to introduce conversation tasks that are used in actual counseling situations to establish a sense of trust toward the agent who acts as a ``counselor" and achieve sustainable interaction. In this paper, we focused on the Miracle Question, a kind of solution focused brief therapy, and developed a system that enables users to experience a interactive mental health care support using this technique on a free communication application ``LINE''. In this paper, we report the overview of this system and the initial results obtained through preliminary experiments with our university students.
