Ultrafast operation of Si TO-switch by the differential control method

(in English) The current injection phase shifter structure using MMI enables high-speed temperature change by reducing the heat capacity of the heated region. We have achieved ultra-high-speed switching of less than 100 ns by using a differential control method that controls the voltage applied to both arms in the MZI type Si thermo-optical optical switch with MMI phase shifters loaded on both arms.
