We discuss the reduction in mode-dependent gain (MDG) in coupled-multi-core erbium- doped fiber (C-MC-EDF) with smaller core pitch by optimizing the bending radius. Our results indicate the possibility of C-MC-EDFA with both low power consumption and MDG because reduction of the core pitch is effective to improve power conversion efficiency of EDFA. |
