Applicability of Phase Modulation Scheme for Wireless Power Transmission System to Simultaneously Deliver Power and Signals

(in English) IoT and 5G systems are being introduced in the world. Wireless power transmission with information can further expand their application areas. Feasibility of a WPT system that uses a chirp signal with its frequency changing from 26.0 to 27.0 MHz was investigated. When the chirp signal was quadrature phase modulated and demodulated with the chirp signal, the correlation value for a ±90° difference normalized to in-phase was 0.076% and -1 for the reverse phase. In the case of demodulation using CW, the normalized correlation for the ±90° difference was 8.0% of in-phase value and -1 for the reversed phase. A difference of more than 10 times from the in-phase value ensures that the signals could be discriminated. In addition, it was confirmed that CW was usable to demodulate the signals with some phase deviations. The results validated the use of proposed modulation and demodulation schemes.
