Evaluation of Trojan Detector for AI Hardware

(in English) In recent years, AI edge computing has been expanding to realize real-time inference by implementing AI models on edge devices.Also, high-level synthesis is important for optimizing the implementation of AI models and peripheral circuits in hardware. On the other hand, the threat of hardware Trojan have been reported in hardware implementations. Therefore, several detection methods focusing on the netlist of the hardware description language have been proposed. However, the detection models have not been sufficiently evaluated for the hardware trojans generated by high-level synthesis. This study implements several detection networks for hardware Trojan detection methods oriented to high-level synthesis of AI models, and evaluate more accurate detection models oriented to AI hardware Trojan. Evaluation experiments reveal a network that can achieve higher detection rates than conventional methods. This study also discusses a versatile detection architecture for various hardware Trojan.
