Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The 5th generation mobile communication system (5G) is expected to be applied to the industrial applications as a use case for URLLC, and the mission is to reduce the end-to-end latency. However, the acceleration process of user data transmission function of UPF is implementation dependent. In this paper, we develop the user data transmission function of UPF in 5G system using an FPGA accelerator card and show that the user data transmission process can be accelerated by comparing it with a software based UPF. By using the developed UPF, the maximum of the internal transmission latency of UPF during one-way transmission becomes 111 µs, which satisfies the end-to-end latency requirement value, which is 1 ms, of the URLLC use case such as motion control or TSN.
