The authors have studied a crane wire system to transmit about 100 W of power and communication signals from the boom of a crane to the hook, and to provide constant power to the equipment attached to the hook. While our conventional systems could only receive at most 1 W of power at the hook, a method of inserting a power amplifier on the transmitter side
and a power factor correction capacitor on the receiver side is proposed in this paper to enable the system to receive up to 72.8 W of power. The impact of the noise generated by the proposing high-power-transmission system on communications over the same wire is also discussed. |
