The imbalance difference model can deal with the EMC issues due to mode conversion caused by structural discontinuities because the mode decomposition technique separates normal mode and common mode using the current division factor that represents the imbalance of a transmission line. The common mode antenna model, which is one of the imbalance difference models, can treat the only mode conversion from normal mode to common mode and calculate common-mode radiation from the three-dimensional equivalent antenna when it is assumed that mode conversion from common mode to normal mode is sufficiently small to be negligible. On the other hand, the modal equivalent-circuit model can handle both mode conversions but the model is not suitable for three-dimensional analysis of complicated structures due to the one-dimensional circuit model. This paper demonstrates Dynamic Link Analysis, a function for co-simulation of ANSYS HFSS on AEDT (ANSYS Electronic Desktop), can deal with the imbalance difference model. As a result, the Analysis can evaluate the EMC issues caused by mode conversion in relation with full-wave analysis by handling both mode conversion in full-wave simulation. |
