It is important for telecommunication carriers to monitor and manage quality of communication services they provide, and the importance of cross-service quality monitoring and resource control is increasing as communication services become more diverse. Although subjective quality assessment methods and quality estimation technologies for quantifying user experience quality, which is used as an indicator for quality monitoring and control, have been researched and developed, since they are considered on a service-by-service basis, their results cannot be compared among multiple services, and cross-service quality monitoring and resource control have not yet been realized. In subjective quality assessment of multi-service, it is difficult to define the same range of quality degradation, and if the influence of the range of quality degradation on evaluation values (range effect) is large, quality comparison between different services becomes difficult. In this paper, we study three assessment methods for video distribution service and web browsing service: single-assessment in which each service is assessed, mixed-assessment in which both services are assessed alternately, and comparison-assessment in which quality difference between both services is assessed. We conducted two subjective quality assessment experiments and showed the range effect is confirmed in the single- and mixed-assessment, while the range effect was suppressed in comparison-assessment. |
