Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study aims to establish a local respiratory motion estimation method inside the lung to apply to diagnose chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and its therapy planning. The MRI series including respiration-induced body motion are obtained in multiple coronal planes, and they are synchronized as input data of 4D-MRI. Next, by detecting and matching keypoints, the respiratory displacements in the lung field are estimated. The image data from a healthy subject and a COPD patient were used for building the method, and the limitation and asynchrony of the lung motion of the COPD patient are confirmed by analyzing quantitatively the lung-inside local displacements.
