[Poster Presentation] A Study on Multipath Mitigation Method in UWB Indoor Navigation

(in English) In this study, we proposed and compared methods to reduce positioning error due to multipath in ToA (Time of Arrival) positioning using IR-UWB (Impulse Radio Ultra Wide Band). First, it is assumed that the path length of reflected waves from walls and floors is longer than that of direct waves, and that the ranging error due to multipath is larger than the true value. Therefore, we thought that by taking the envelope from below for the time-series ranging data at each sensor, we could adopt only the values close to the true value while avoiding the values with errors. As a result, positioning errors of several meters were improved to several tens of centimeters. The above was also done using computer simulation.
