Ultrasonic Scattering of Microparticle Suspensions Considering Viscoelastic Effects
Tomohisa Norisuye, Kenichiro Ishimoto, Kazuto Tsuji (KIT) US2022-19
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Ultrasonic transmission spectroscopy is a nondestructive and non-contacting technique to evaluate the elasticity of particles dispersed in liquid. Furthermore, our laboratory has newly proposed the viscoelastic ECAH theory, which extends the ECAH theory, one of the ultrasonic scattering theories, to incorporate both storage and loss elasticity into the analysis.
However, due to the lack of knowledge on the mechanism of the emergence of viscous loss, the validity of this theory was verified by performing a versatile scattering analysis of viscoelasticity in the ultrasonic frequency domain.
