SPICE Modeling of Vacuum Tubes for Low Plate Voltage

We measured the Ep-Ip characteristics of vacuum tubes and created SPICE models for low plate voltages (about 10V to 30V). By fitting the Cohen-H'{e}lie model to the measured Ep-Eg-Ip characteristics using a nonlinear least-squares method, a model curve that relatively matches the measured data is drawn. The characteristic is measured for pentode tubes with triode connection and triode tubes. This experiment revealed that good characteristics can be obtained even at low plate voltages. Since the characteristics of vacuum tubes at this level of plate voltage cannot be read from data sheets, it is meaningful to create a model of vacuum tubes at low plate voltages. Another advantage is that the clarification of the tube model at low voltage from 10V to 30V enables the use of vacuum tubes for purposes other than the audio circuit. |
