Doppler tolerance of signals generated by combining multiple linear chirp signals and M-sequence

(in English) A multi-source Multi Static Sonar (MSS) of which the detection volume is larger than that of the conventional MSS has been researched. The authors proposed the Varying Frequency Modulation Division Multiplexing (VFMDM) method as a multiplexing method to prevent interference of transmitted signals of a multi-source MSS. VFMDM-signals are generated by combinations multiple linear frequency modulated signals (LFM), and enables to identify a source. In this report, for the purpose of evaluating the difference in Doppler tolerance due to the combination of LFM-up and LFM-down, the ambiguity function of the transmitted signal generated by the VFMDM method is obtained, and the main lobe level when the Doppler frequency changes is calculated. A simulation test was conducted as an evaluation item. As a result, it was suggested that the combination did not affect the identification performance so much that it had to be considered in the design.
